Lo scorso giugno vi riportavamo che FX Networks aveva rinnovato Legion per una terza stagione. Nel corso del panel dell’azienda al tour della Television Critics Association, è stato rivelato che la terza sarà anche l’ultima stagione dello show creato da Noah Hawley. John Landgraf, presidente del network, ha spiegato come nella mente del suo creatore la storia sia stata sempre suddivisa in tre parti. Inoltre, dopo essere stato solo citato nel corso delle passate stagioni, la nuova vedrà la comparsa in campo del Professor X, padre del protagonista David Haller, che avrà il volto di Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones). Il debutto della terza e ultima stagione è previsto per giugno.
Nel cast è entrata anche Stephanie Corneliussen (Mr. Robot), che interpreterà Gabrielle Haller, la madre di David. Questo inverno, Hawley sarà impegnato anche nelle riprese della quarta stagione di Fargo.
